  Summer reading begins. Celeste Rose and Her Marionettes will present Green Hats and Dragon Eggs at the Coos Bay Public Library on June 27^that 11 am. The show is free. For more information please call 269-1101.

• First Call Resolution Mural Dedication Ceremony -
  
  

  A community mural dedication ceremony will be held at 1 pm on June 8^th. The ceremony is at the 2^nd Court alley between First Call Resolution and the Pottery Co. For more information please call 541-266-9706.

• Arrmchair Film Adventure -
  
  

  The “Armchair Film Adventure” series is also at the Coos Bay Public Library on June 11^th, at 2:00 pm, in the Myrtlewood Meeting Room. A “Cities of the World” visit to Sweden is this month’s adventure. For more information please call 269-1101.

• Marshfield 116th Commencement Ceremony -
  
  

  Marshfield High School will be holding the 116^th commencement ceremony on June 8^th, at 7:00 pm in the main gymnasium. Shuttle services will be available from Blossom Gulch Elementary School, St. Monica’s Church, the Coos Bay Chapel, and the Coos Bay Library. Shuttles begin loading at 5:30 pm and will transport passengers to Marshfield approximately every 10 minutes until 6:50 pm. Shuttles will be waiting to return all attendees to their vehicles.

• Prescription Pill Drop-off Point -
  Coos Baycitizens can now dispose of their medicinal trash at the Coos Bay Police Department’s “Prescription Pill Drop-off Point” which is located in the lobby of the Police Department. There are similar disposal programs in North Bend as well.

• ODFW Outdoors Fly Fishing Class -
  
  

  ODFW Outdoors will host a fly fishing class at LaVerne Park on the North Fork of the Coquille River on Saturday, June 8 from 8:30 to 5. The class costs $42 and includes lunch and use of equipment. For more call 888-5515.

• Coos Bay Power Squadron Boating Class -
  
  

  Coos Bay Power Squadron is hosting a boating class on July 8, 11, 15, and 18 starting at 6:30pm at the Boat Basin in Charleston.  The class costs $35 and offers the Oregon Boaters Education Card.  Call 888-6178 for more.

• Free Garden Seminar -
  The Coquille Valley Seed Library is hosting a free garden seminar on June 13^th at 6:00 pm. The seminar will be held at the Owen Building on 201 N. Adams Street in Coquille. For more information please visit www.CoquilleValleySeed.org

• City of Coos Bay Civil Positions Open -
  The City of Coos Bay is seeking volunteers to fill openings on the Library Board, Building & Fire Code Board of Appeals, Urban Renewal Advisory Committee, and the Street Task Force. Applications and information are available from the City Manager’s Office or by calling 541-269-8912.
